Which of these Jacqueline Wilson books do you think would make a great film?
London, 1876 and Hetty Feather is just a tiny baby when her mother leaves her at the Foundling Hospital. The Hospital cares for abandoned children – but Hetty must first live with a foster family until she is big enough to go to school. Life in the countryside is hard but with her 'brothers' Jem and Gideon, she helps in the fields and plays imaginary games. Together they sneak off to visit the travelling circus and Hetty is mesmerised by the show, especially Madame Adeline and her performing horses.But Hetty's happiness is threatened once more when she is returned to the Foundling Hospital. The new life of awful uniforms and terrible food is a struggle for her. But now she has the chance to find her real mother. Could she really be the wonderful Madame Adeline? Or will Hetty find the truth is even more surprising?
I am a very 'old fashioned girl' (that's a book by lousia m. alcott) i'm fasinaticed by history, love retro stuff so of corse the moment i heard of hetty feather, i pleaded my mum to by it. i read it in two days. It's one of my favourite books ever. Thank you for inspiring me to become an author...

I bought this book to read to my daughter and we both cried buckets, my daughter asked me to stop reading it because she got so upset. Although the book was very sad, I thought it was excellent because it reminded me that adults sometimes like to pretend that children are too little to notice or they'll get over it. Hetty's story showed the depth and importance of little childrens emotions. Well done Jacky

Hi Jacqueline! I just wanted to praise you on your book, Hetty Feather. We were studying the Victorions in school when I started to read this book. It really put a picture in my head of how terrible it must have been for poor Hetty and all the other Victorian girls. I just wanted to thank you as the book helped me greatly with my research!! I think that this book is one of the best books I have ever read. It is very moving story, brilliantly written, as always, and is just very exicting.
