April 2011

Spring has sprung!

It's Springtime - but I'm afraid I don't feel very Spring-like just now, as I'm stuck in bed with flu.  I'm taking my medicine and sucking cough sweets and having lots of hot drinks - and I jolly well hope I get better soon!  I haven't been able to get on with much work for the last few days - but I have still managed to write a couple of pages of my Sisters book every morning.

I am so touched and delighted that so many of you have shared your sister stories with me.  They've made fascinating reading!  It's such an interesting relationship.  You can simultaneously be best friends and worst enemies - but you nearly all say that you really love each other to bits.  That's certainly the case with MY sisters.  I'm on chapter eight now - and something very dramatic is about to happen!

I'm also so grateful for all your holiday suggestions.  I shall mull them all over carefully.  I wish it was possible to reply to you all personally, but nowadays there are hundreds and hundreds of emails each month and it simply isn't possible.  I do hope you understand.

It's particularly special getting emails from all over the world.  I'm always very touched when someone bravely writes in a foreign language.  Nearly always these letters are beautifully constructed, and with perfect spelling too!

I've got a quieter month now, so once I'm better I shall forge ahead with my book.  Maybe I'll type some more of it in bed.  It's quite cosy propped up with pillows, with Jacob lying at my feet.

Love from Jacqueline Wilson
